Are you a current undergraduate student looking for an exciting summer opportunity? Savvas Learning Company is seeking bright, motivated undergraduate students to join us for our dynamic 8-week Product Development Internship in Northbrook, IL. You will join us for eight weeks and gain valuable experience within the educational publishing industry.

Over the summer, participants will receive guidance from top teams in the K-12 education field, work on real-life business projects, attend weekly informational sessions to learn about other business areas, network with other students, attend off-site events, and finally, present a project to Savvas' senior leaders at the end of the summer to showcase the impact you've made on our business.

Intern positions are full-time opportunities, 40 hours per week, requiring a hybrid work schedule with two (2) days onsite at our Northbrook, IL office. You'll typically be on-site on Wednesdays and another day as determined by you and your mentor during the first week of the program.

As an LXD Intern, you will be a vital member of the team, helping shape the future of educational technology. We are looking for a tech-forward, detail-oriented designer who is eager to bridge the gap between pedagogy and cutting-edge UX. You will assist in building engaging student experiences and streamlined educator tools while exploring the frontier of AI-integrated design. You will also create documentation and tools to help improve efficiency, design quality, and user-centered approaches at Savvas.

  • Internal Advocacy: Manage internal social channels and communication to champion user-centered design and build excitement around user research findings.

What We Are Looking For

  • Academic Background: Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in HCI, UX Design, Product Design, or a related field, with a graduation date after August 2026.

  • Tool Proficiency: Advanced skills in Figma and Figma Make and a genuine curiosity for integrating AI into the creative workflow.
  • Self-Starters: A proactive collaborator who can work independently in a fast-paced environment and isn't afraid to "get their hands dirty" with DesignOps.
  • Communication: Strong storytelling skills-both in your designs and in how you present your ideas to cross-functional teams.
  • Location: Ability to work in a hybrid capacity, with at least two days per week on-site at our Northbrook, IL office.
