Manager, Sales Compensation

Overview

The Manager, Sales Compensation is responsible for key operational activities that drive efficient processes and align with timely and accurate payments. In addition, they will assist in plan design to help drive performance, align with business objectives, and ensure compliance within the organization. This role partners closely with Sales, Sales Operations, Finance, HR, and Legal to support revenue growth and motivate the sales organization through effective compensation strategies.

What you will do

  • Design, administer, and maintain sales incentive compensation plans aligned with company goals and sales strategy
  • Manage end-to-end sales compensation processes, including plan documentation, accruals, payouts, and audits
  • Ensure accurate and timely calculation and payment of commissions and incentives
  • Analyze sales performance and compensation data to evaluate plan effectiveness and recommend improvements
  • Collaborate with Finance and HR to ensure compensation plans comply with company policies, legal requirements, and budget constraints
  • Own sales compensation systems and tools; lead system enhancements, testing, and issue resolution
  • Develop clear communication and training materials to help sales teams understand compensation plans
  • Handle sales compensation inquiries, disputes, and escalations professionally and efficiently
  • Support annual planning cycles, plan redesign, and sales kickoff preparation

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in sales compensation, sales operations, finance, or a related role
  • Strong analytical skills with experience working with large data sets
  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with sales compensation tools (e.g., Xactly, Anaplan, SAP, Salesforce) preferred
  • Solid understanding of sales roles, incentive structures, and quota-based compensation
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting SaaS, enterprise, or multi-channel sales organizations
  • People management or project leadership experience
  • Knowledge of compensation governance, SOX controls, or audit processes

The salary range for this position is: USD $114,103.81 - $143,896.18

The salary range information provided, reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors. In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
