Western Technical College is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Career Services Intern to support daily operations and career programming initiatives. This position offers hands-on experience in higher education, student support, employer engagement, and event coordination.


This student internship provides valuable experience in career development and higher education while building transferable professional skills.

The position runs from March through June 30, 2026 , and would have a flexible schedule of 15-20 hours per week (Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM). Applicants must be Western students enrolled in at least 3 credits; please note this role is not eligible for benefits.

Essential Functions

1. Maintain and uphold the College values of Learning, Excellence, Accountability, Diversity, Student Success, Teamwork, Integrity, and Respect. Regular attendance is required.
2. Perform office functions that may include, but are not limited to: respond to internal/external customers and staff; create and modify documents, records, and reports using College standard software; maintain hard copy and/or electronic filing system; monitor inventory and budget information; schedule, coordinate, and prepare materials for meetings and/or appointments.
3. Complete all required College training and responsible for maintaining the skills necessary to complete the essential functions of the position as defined by the department.
4. Student Success is the cornerstone of Western's culture and the college may assign employees as needed to other areas or additional duties to foster this success.
5. Career Services responsibilities would include:

  • Manage and monitor the Career Services inbox
  • Schedule student appointments and coordinate meetings
  • Assist with outreach and marketing of career-related events
  • Support development and execution of workshops and programs
  • Research employer partners aligned with academic programs
  • Conduct research on career services best practices
  • Provide general administrative and project support

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current Western Student with 3+ credits
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Professional and customer-service oriented
  • Interest in career development, higher education, or student services
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Hourly salary : $16.55 (internship ending 6/30/26)
