POSITION SUMMARYThis position is responsible for providing financial planning and analysis for a specific division or department. This individual is responsible for delivering value-added business analysis and establishing meaningful operational metrics that lead to accurate business decision making. Prepares and analyzes reports and dashboards reflecting earnings, profits, cash flow, and other financial and operational results and makes recommendations to improve financial results. Develops forecasts using latest tools. Measures performance against business plans and budgets, interprets data and makes recommendations for operational improvements and increasing division profitability. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participates in leading and developing monthly and annual forecasts for income statement, balance sheet and cash flow
  • Analyses actual vs. forecast variances and provides insights into key drivers for variances
  • Analyses and investigates margin variances; provides insight into drivers on margin increases or decreases
  • Develops ad hoc models utilizing excel or other tools to determine the income statement, balance sheet and cash flow impacts of contemplated business decisions such as adding a new warehouse or exiting a line of business.
  • Identifies and develops PowerBI reports for finance and business users to either visualize the data or enhance financial operations
  • Supports Accounting and Finance Operations teams in advanced use of tools to automate and streamline processes
  • Expert on data manipulation - able to write Sequel Queries, advanced Excel techniques, Power Query and other data tools
  • Leads preparation of internal financial reports and dashboards; continuously automates and improves reporting to provide data in an intuitive, automated way
  • Understands financials (accounts, transactions, reporting tree) and analyzes and explains variances and provides ideas to enhance profitability
  • Develops metrics to measure business operations and identify areas for improvement.
  • Leads development of customer, segment and channel profitability and cash flow analysis - identifies actionable opportunities to enhance business performance
  • Supervises FP&A staff and seniors when applicable as well as Data Analysts in the Finance Department
  • Interacts with functional team; some exposure to external parties
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 4 year degree in accounting or finance required, Master's degree a plus

  • Relevant certifications such as CMA, CFA, or CPA preferred

  • 5-7 years of broad accounting or FP&A experience

  • A highly metrics-driven individual with strong analytical abilities.

  • A working manager, capable of operating in a fast-paced environment, able to handle pressure well, and be self-motivated

  • Player-coach who can manage as well as dig into the details to drive results and exhibits high emotional intelligence.

  • Strategic decision maker with strong problem-solving skills (critical thinking, creativity, innovation) who is naturally curious.

  • Proven leader with high professional ethics and unquestionable integrity who is well organized and can prioritize and plan ahead

  • Excellent communicator and listener who is assertive yet personable and collaborative; has a point of view and can clearly interpret and summarize data

  • Passionate leader driven to find opportunities to improve business operations and profitability

  • Advanced knowledge of information technology - proficient in Microsoft Excel and strong knowledge in PowerBI. Sequel knowledge a plus

  • Supervisory skills and demonstrated ability to work with a diverse organization where group interaction, communication, and human relations are critical

  • Above average written and verbal communications skills

  • A team player and effective communicator

  • Strong attention to detail
