We are seeking a Principal Data Scientist. This role will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the data science team at Machinify, and requires a deep technical background, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive innovation and excellence in a fast-paced environment. Reporting to the Chief Data Scientist, the Director of Data Science will collaborate closely with other leaders to align engineering efforts with the company's strategic goals. What you will do: Provide direction and guidance to a team of Senior and Staff Data Scientists, enabling them to do their best work Collaborate with the leadership team to define key technical and business metrics and objectives Translate objectives into internal team priorities and assignments Drive sprints and work with cross-functional stakeholders to appropriately prioritize various initiatives to improve customer metrics Hire, mentor and develop team members Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement Communicate technical concepts and strategies to technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively Own the success of various models on the field by continuously monitoring KPI's and initiating projects to improve quality. What you bring: Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field 10+ years of data science experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, including a leadership role at a start-up. Proven track record of managing data teams and delivering complex, high-impact products from concept to deployment Strong knowledge of data privacy regulations and best practices in data security Exceptional team management abilities, with experience in building and leading high-performing teams Ability to think strategically and execute methodically Ability to drive change and inspire a distributed team Strong problem-solving skills and a data-driven mindset Ability to communicate effectively, collaborating with diverse groups to solve complex problems You embrace challenges with optimism and a balanced, and bring a business-oriented approach to product development You prioritize customer impact, ensuring your work significantly advances our product value What We Offer Workfrom anywhere in the US!Machinifyis digital-first.
