HarcoSemco is a Custom Aerospace Components Manufacturer. We have seen great success in innovating advanced manufacturing techniques in the design and fabrication of temperature sensors, thermocouple systems, interconnect cable-harness assemblies, probes, and sensors. For over 65 years, we have successfully supplied these products to the commercial, business, military jet, rotor, and spacecraft markets.

Located in Branford, CT, we have an opportunity for a results-driven HR Generalist. The HR Generalist at HarcoSemco manages daily HR operations, including recruitment, benefits administration, payroll processing, training compliance, compliance with federal/state laws, and policy enforcement within the aerospace manufacturing environment.


This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements; therefore, a "US Person" as defined by 22 CFR 120.62, 15 CFR 734.2(b)(2)(ii), 10 CFR 810.3, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) is required. "US Person" includes a US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.

Key Responsibilities & Focus Areas


  • Employment Lifecycle Management:

    • Handling the full recruitment process, including interviewing, onboarding, and offboarding.


  • Benefits & Payroll:

    • Administering benefits and processing biweekly payroll.


  • Compliance & Policy:

    • Ensuring compliance with HR laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA) and enforcing company policies.
    • Prepares OSHA, EEO, and AAP reporting, and assists with other required state and federal reporting.
    • Responds to unemployment claims and participates in hearings when required.
    • Partners with HR Director and management in developing and enhancing safety initiatives as needed.
    • Collaborates on the development, delivery, and recordkeeping of training.
    • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training.


  • Workers' Compensation and Safety:

    • Handles claims process, including closing of claims
    • Point of contact for employee, follow up on restrictions
    • Maintain OSHA logs
    • Coordinate Safety Meetings




  • HRIS Management:

    • Maintaining human resource information systems. Including Training tracking.
    • Responsible for HRIS upgrades, including time keeping and other new systems.
    • Support miscellaneous HR and administrative projects as needed.





Experience & Skills

  • BA/BS Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.


  • 3+ years of progressive HR experience, including benefit administration & payroll processing (ADP).
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of employment law and HR compliance basics.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
  • Proficient with MS Outlook and MS Teams.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS, Learning and Talent management systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
