Environmental, Operations and Construction (EOC) operates within HDR's Federal Business Group, capable of delivering services across all HDR business groups at any location. Our work is performed by our professional staff, scientists and engineers at remote sites, embedded in client office space or our own facilities. EOC delivers quality engineering, environmental, and construction management services at competitive prices.

In the role of Electrical Designer, we'll count on you to:
  • Provide electrical technical and engineering support in the design of the building systems (Power, Lighting, Grounding, Lightning protection)
  • Provide support in engineering evaluations and recommendations for improvements
  • Provide in-depth assessments and cost estimates for electrical projects
  • Design electrical systems based on the DOD/Tinker AFB specifications
  • Provide technical reviews of Submittals, Requests for Information and internal design drawings
  • Participates in final on-site inspections
  • Support the other disciplines as needed
  • Provide support to the DAT program
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
  • Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
  • A minimum 5 years of experience in general electrical design of buildings
  • Prior DoD project experience
  • Knowledge of the Internal Building Code, NFPA Life Safety Code, ASCE 7, ACI Standards, AISC Standards, and Unified Facilities Criteria
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of codes and good planning skills
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis
  • Desire to pursue growth opportunities and obtain registration
  • Strong computer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI and Easy Power
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
