NC State Wellness and Recreation is seeking energetic and qualified individuals for a temporary Fitness Training Coach position. This role will contribute to our mission of inspiring a culture of wellness by delivering safe and effective fitness training programs to our community.
This is a temporary, seasonal, part-time position starting
April 29, 2026 and ending August 16, 2026. The position reports to the Coordinator, Fitness.
- Lead Engaging Group Training Classes: Effectively demonstrate, teach and correct exercise movements within group training sessions.
- Provide Scalable Exercise Options: Offer appropriate movement modifications to accommodate diverse fitness levels and participant needs.
- Create a Motivating Environment: Foster a fun, safe and inclusive atmosphere that motivates and educates participants.
- Develop Safe and Effective Training Plans: Create and implement safe and effective training programs for individual clients.
- Maintain Fitness Knowledge: Stay current on general fitness, wellness, anatomy, kinesiology and physiology related to human movement and muscular conditioning.
- Maintain Equipment Cleanliness: Assist in the upkeep and sanitation of fitness equipment and the studio environment.
- Guideline Enforcement: Understand and enforce Wellness and Recreation and area specific guidelines.
- Risk Management: Knowledge and implementation of emergency action plan.
- Training and Meetings: Attend required training and monthly staff meetings.
- Community: Develop professional relationships with co-workers, participants and guests.

- Develop and Lead: Engaging and effective group fitness classes, leveraging prior experience in a collegiate setting.
