Job Summary Mesa Community College (MCC) is seeking two full-time Maintenance Operations Specialists to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of campus buildings, utilities, equipment, facilities, and life safety systems, ensuring safe and efficient operations across the campus. These customer service oriented positions require timely, professional, and courteous service. Responsibilities include responding to and completing work orders and service requests related to plumbing, electrical systems, equipment maintenance, furniture repairs, and life safety systems. These roles also include supporting campus event requests and setups in accordance with event specifications. These positions require working independently at times while maintaining communication with the department to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and safely. Essential Functions 40% Maintenance and Repairs: Monitors, maintains, and performs minor repairs for mechanical systems, locks, plumbing, electrical systems, life safety systems, and energy management systems. Investigates and obtains trades services if necessary and coordinates or oversees work performed by external vendors. 40% -Work Orders and Materials Management: Receives daily work orders through the department's electronic work order system and updates work order statuses as projects progress. Maintains and tracks a supply of parts and other materials to successfully perform assigned tasks. Responds to work order requests and emergency calls, adheres to applicable policies and procedures, and keeps assigned tools and equipment in clean and safe working condition. 10% - Event Support and Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned, including supporting campus event requests and setups. 10% - Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED, and three (3) years of specialized building maintenance and/or repair experience related to area of assignment. There is no substitution or equivalency allowable for the High School Diploma or GED. Desired Qualifications A. Three (3) years of experience in facilities maintenance or repair. B. One (1) year of experience as a facilities or maintenance technician in a commercial or educational setting. C. Three (3) years of experience assisting trades personnel. D. Experience troubleshooting plumbing systems, including repair and installation. E. Experience assisting with troubleshooting life safety systems. F. Experience in locksmithing and door hardware. G. One year of relevant full-time MCCCD experience during the previous two years. Special Working Conditions
