Read further to learn how you could help make great things possible not only in your community, but around the world. #LI-JG9 HDR is hiring an experienced Senior Transportation Planner to work in our Orlando office to lead on-going and new transportation planning tasks and projects. Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead project teams to successfully deliver on a variety of transportation planning projects including complete streets, transit planning, traffic analysis, long range planning, community planning, or PD&E - Work in partnership with regional business development directors and client managers to develop a short-term marketing action plan for longer-term program development - Provide overall support to area leadership to maintain regional planning practice profitability, staff development, and client relationships - Responsible for developing transportation planning deliverables with technical accuracy and quality control - Supervise transportation planners and c ontinue to build a growing, multi-disciplinary planning team, with special attention to developing internal staff for future project manager/deputy project manager roles - Lead writing of technical reports, presentations, and other materials to document planning study findings - Lead development of concepts and presentation materials for public meetings and project websites/pages - Attend and participate in public meetings - Participation in HDR National Practice Group(s), Industry Association(s), and Civic Organization(s) #LI-JS6 Preferred Qualifications: - AICP Certification - Project management experience - Experience with Microsoft tools such as MS Project, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Sharepoint and OneDrive. - Ability to multi-task and stay organized. - Must be highly responsive to requests from clients. - Strong verbal and written skills - An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture - Florida PE or ability to obtain within 6 months - Project Management Professional (PMP) - Experience working with or for FDOT - Experience working with or for Florida Cities or Counties - Experience working with or for an MPO/TPO organization
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Planning, Engineering or a related field
- A minimum of 10 years' experience with transportation planning
- Possess excellent analytical and communication skills
- Understanding of transit planning principles
- Positive attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and personnel
- Solid business development skills; demonstrated ability to relate well to clients; and demonstrated presentation skills
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
