Primary Purpose:


Serves as a subject matter expert in rate design and regulatory strategy, influencing major pricing initiatives. Develops innovative approaches that optimize revenue, meet regulatory standards, and support long-term organizational objectives.


Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Serves as subject matter expert on rate design, regulatory compliance, and cost-of-service studies.
  • Leads strategic projects involving complex rate structures and multi-jurisdictional filings.
  • Provides input on organizational policies affecting rates and tariffs and ensures alignment with corporate goals.
  • Develops long-term strategies for rate design and implementation using predictive analytics.
  • Represents the organization in high-level regulatory proceedings and stakeholder negotiations.
  • Advises senior leadership on rate-related business decisions and emerging industry trends.
  • Oversees development of advanced rate modeling tools and ensures integration with enterprise systems.
  • Influences industry standards through participation in external forums and working groups.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:



  • Typically requires a 4 year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Typically requires 10 years of related experience.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Financial Modeling - Designing mathematical models and analyzing data to estimate the financial performance and value of a company or investment, involves analyzing historical financial data, projecting future scenarios, and measuring the variance between projections and actual performance.
  • Rate Forecasting - Predicting the future values of energy rates.
  • Data Analysis - Measuring and managing organization data, identifying methodological best practices and conducting statistical analyses.
  • Rate Design - Applying frameworks to set prices for the reliable provision of electricity and energy services.
  • Regulatory Compliance - Ensuring an organization's adherence to laws, regulations, guidelines and specifications relevant to its business processes.
  • Technical Reporting - A form of subjective and formal report that presents the objectives, processes, and results of technical work.
  • Tariff Management - The systematic approach to ensuring the company is taking advantage of all the opportunities afforded by the customs regulations to reduce your total duty burden.
  • Retail Load Forecasting - Planning and predicting the supply of energy needed in order to meet future demand.
  • Database Management - The function of managing and maintaining database management systems (DBMS) software.
  • Market Analysis - Analyzing competing products, services, and organizations in the external business environment.
