This position will report to the Director of Accounting and Reporting and be responsible for the financial reporting and technical accounting at the Company, which has experienced significant growth.

This position will also be responsible for representing accounting throughout the M&A process, working with cross-department business leaders such as the due diligence team, tax, and legal to ensure all accounting business combination principles are considered. Convergint completes approximately ten acquisitions per year on a global basis.

Job responsibilities:



  • Critically review contracts, research and interpret accounting standards, and provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions such as acquisitions, divestitures, revenue recognition, leases, financial instruments, consolidation and impairments.
  • Perform business combination accounting, allocation of purchase price analysis, and valuation analysis of identifiable intangible assets, including working with and checking the work performed by valuation specialists, to ensure amounts are recorded and presented in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Draft technical accounting memos, accounting position papers, and control documentation to support the company's accounting conclusions and processes.
  • Review and distributes periodic financial statements for internal and external users.
  • Stay up to date on changes to accounting standards and regulatory requirements and assist with the development of accounting policies and procedures, as needed.
  • Support the implementation and execution of key controls and processes and update key control narratives, as needed.
  • Review a limited number of account reconciliations in non-routine areas as well as areas involving a higher degree of judgment and/or technical expertise.
  • Play a key role in the annual audit process with external auditors, the corporate accounting team, finance, and executive management.
  • Provide training and support to team members on technical accounting matters.



Requirements:



  • Bachelor's Degree and/or Master's Degree in Accounting
  • CPA required
  • Minimum +8 years' experience, public accounting experience preferred years total experience with at least 3+ years' experience at a public accounting firm required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization
  • A demonstrated history of solving multiple and complex operational and accounting challenges
  • Organized and has an aptitude for information technology
  • Proven ability to work cross functionally and proactively identify accounting issues, research applicable guidance and document accounting conclusions
  • Resourceful and not afraid to dive into the details while also driving thoughtful and strategic project execution
  • Passionate about process, continuous improvement, and leveraging technology. You thrive in juggling and driving multiple projects to completion
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Your approach is clear, thoughtful and customer focused. You have an ability to build relationships and exert influence with a kind and consultative approach
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership over your work and that of the team
