As the Anchorage Vice President - General Manager, you will help lead one of our most critical markets with vision and purpose; assisting the drive of strategic initiatives which ensure safety, promote growth, strengthen returns, and align with our competitive EBITDA Margin Improvement, Discipline, Growth and Excellence (EDGE) goals. You will oversee a broad portfolio of operations spanning aggregate, ready-mix concrete, cement, and building materials stores in the Anchorage market. Most importantly, you will help inspire team members, build trusted relationships across customers and communities while increase shareholder value, while positioning Anchorage as a cornerstone of our company's long-term success. This role requires a visionary, results-oriented leader with a strong mindset, exceptional strategic abilities, and the ability to navigate a fast-paced and ever evolving business environment. Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Construction Materials Management, Civil Engineering or related field with 5 or more years of progressively responsible management experience at Knife River or 10 years' relevant experience in lieu of a college degree.
- Ten or more years of proven progressive construction materials or related industry experience.
- Experience working and managing complex projects.
- Proficient knowledge in computer skills and computer software relative to construction materials industry.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, lead and mentor others.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including making presentations.
- Experience in training, developing and accessing company personnel.
- High ethical standards and integrity, with sound business judgement and a demonstrated commitment to corporate governance.
- In-depth knowledge of construction materials operations, safety management, regulatory compliance, and risk management practices.
Preferred Requirements:
- Advanced degree in business, Finance, Construction Materials Manufacturing, Civil Engineering or related field with 10 years' relevant experience in a construction materials manufacturing setting.
- Significant knowledge of construction materials manufacturing operations with strong emphasis on math and analytical skills as well as estimating, planning and process skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for developing operational plans that includes finance, competitor and market assessments and labor needs. Identifies and plans for capital improvements and maintenance needs to support the operations.
- Closely monitors materials pricing to maintain a competitive advantage within the markets.
- Oversees the day-to-day operational activities of the company to ensure that projects are on schedule and within budget.
- Partners with safety and environmental leaders to develop, train, enforce and support safe practices and policies.
- Works to develop and maintain working relationships with major customers and seeks out potential customers.
- Works with appropriate staff and vendors to oversee the maintenance and replacement programs of equipment, plants and other facilities.
- Ensure MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation is in compliance and being upheld to the highest standard.
- Develop organizational structure to support business plan levels.
- Provide leadership and vision to foster employee growth and retention
- Ability to travel on short notice and for extended periods. A valid driver's license is required.
