Job Description




As a Security Officer - Unarmed - Control Room Officer in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer supporting a healthcare location where service and professionalism matter. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, stay highly visible to help reduce incidents, and respond to calls for assistance with clear communication and strong customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate medical staff, facility management, and/or public emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of corridors, waiting areas, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and visitor flow, verifying identification and/or authorization when required, and directing individuals to appropriate check-in and service areas per site procedures.
  • Document security-related activities, incidents, and observations in written and/or electronic reports, and communicate relevant information during shift briefings and post handoffs.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Supervisory experience is required.
  • One or more years of law enforcement experience or two or more years of security supervisor or manager experience or three or more years of security experience is required.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
