Post-Doctoral Associate

A postdoctoral associate position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Julia Lemos at University of Minnesota. The Lemos Laboratory will be part of University of Minnesota's Medical Discovery Team on the Neuroscience of Addiction (MDT-A). The Lemos Laboratory studies stress neurobiology and it relationship to disease states such as depression, addiction and anxiety. We are specifically interested in understanding how stressors are encoded in the brain, and in particular how they are represented by neural circuits involved motivation and action selection. The laboratory uses a multi-disciplinary set of techniques to answer these questions.

The post-doctoral associate will be expected to carry out a central project of the laboratory. In addition, the post-doctoral fellow will be encouraged to develop her/his own research within the overall goal of the laboratory. The post-doctoral associate will be expected to provide mentorship to other trainees alongside Dr. Lemos.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Neuroscience (or related field). In addition, applicants must have one first author paper published in a neuroscience journal.
Qualified applicants should have experience with ex vivo electrophysiology or electrochemistry in limbic circuits. In addition, experience running behavioral assays in mice or rats is required. Applicants should have training in the neurobiology of addiction, stress, depression or emotion.

Pay Range: $68,455.20 annually; depending on education/qualifications/experience
