Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a part-time Investment Analytics Specialist to work within the Rutgers University Investment Office. The Rutgers University Investment Office is responsible for managing the university's endowment - a diversified pool of assets that provides long-term financial support for student aid, pioneering research, innovative programs, and the strategic priorities of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.
This position provides analytical and technical support to the Investment Office by applying mathematical, computational, and financial knowledge to research, develop, and enhance tools that support portfolio risk assessment, performance analysis, and investment decision-making. The role focuses on improving the speed, granularity, and efficiency of investment analytics through the use of established and emerging quantitative methods, data tools, and technologies. Working closely with investment professionals, this position supports the development of analytical models, dashboards, and reporting tools that strengthen risk monitoring, manager evaluation, and portfolio insights. The role contributes to ongoing efforts to modernize internal analytics capabilities and improve the use of data in investment processes, while operating within established investment frameworks and governance structures.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Assists in researching, developing, and maintaining analytical tools to support portfolio risk measurement and performance analysis
- Applies quantitative, statistical, and computational techniques to improve data quality, analytical efficiency, and reporting capabilities
- Supports investment decision-making through enhanced risk analytics, scenario analysis, and manager screening support
- Collaborates with Investment Office staff to translate analytical needs into practical tools and outputs
- Utilizes established and emerging technologies to automate or streamline analytical workflows
- Documents methodologies, assumptions, and analytical processes to support transparency and continuity
- Provides guidance and support to student interns, as appropriate and aligned with departmental needs and priorities.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Two (2) years of relevant experience developing analytics models and evaluating financial data, investment strategies, or analytical tools.
