Our Team

The Credits and Incentives capability supports each of the Koch subsidiaries on operational investments and works closely with Finance Leaders, Government Relations, Tax Directors, Facility Leaders, Human Resources, and State & Local Governments. Our C&I team is dedicated to fostering strong relationships with our stakeholders by providing transparent, timely, and comprehensive guidance on various investments with primary focus on "Identification, Pursuit, and Maintenance" of State and Local Tax Incentives.

What You Will Do

C&I Opportunity Identification and Execution

  • Oversee and continue to advance the C&I capability across Koch companies, serving as a key point of contact for C&I strategy, execution, and governance
  • Identify, analyze, and document state and local C&I opportunities, including qualification, quantification, and benefit realization
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments to assess new C&I opportunities and impacts to existing programs
  • Partner with key stakeholders to align C&I strategy with Koch principles, business vision, and broader direct and indirect tax positions

Compliance, Documentation, and Risk Management

  • Maintain a centralized library of existing and C&I programs and pursuits, including documentation of ongoing compliance and reporting requirements
  • Coordinate with Tax, Accounting, HR, and other teams to ensure C&I benefits are accurately reported, tracked, and realized
  • Support responses to inquiries and examinations from tax authorities and economic development agencies relating to C&I

Stakeholder and Advisor Engagement

  • Build strong, collaborative relationships across Koch companies to understand business objectives and proactively align C&I strategies
  • Lead and manage relationships with external advisors, including law firms, accounting firms, and other specialists, to support C&I analysis, documentation, and compliance

Leadership, Innovation, and Transformation

  • Coach and develop team members across the indirect tax organization, fostering technical excellence and professional growth
  • Manage multiple complex projects, clearly communicating progress, risks, and outcomes to leadership
  • Drive innovation within the tax organization by improving processes, tools, and ways of working related to C&I and indirect tax

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience leading or contributing to multiple, complex, timesensitive projects
  • Experience in a law firm, CPA firm, large multinational organization, economic development, or a comparable environment involving state and local incentives
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and drive accountability for professionals at varying career levels
  • Strong working knowledge of state and local tax incentives and the ability to evaluate complex, fact-specific opportunities

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience with state and local C&I programs across multiple jurisdictions and/or business types
  • Experience interpreting new or evolving tax or incentive legislation at the state and local level
  • Experience engaging with government agencies to resolve questions related to C&I
  • Technical writing and/or research experience in a tax or policy context
