Type of Opportunity: Full time FTE: 0.90 Job Exempt: No Work Shift: 12 Hour Nights (United States of America)

Responsibilities:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Charge Nurse - Pediatric Medical Emergency Team (MET) to serve as a clinical leader for rapid response and high-acuity pediatric care. In this role, you will lead emergency response efforts, support bedside teams, and help ensure the highest level of patient safety across the hospital.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead Rapid Response & Code Events: Coordinate and respond to all pediatric rapid response calls, codes, and clinical escalations across the hospital.
  • Provide Expert Clinical Support: Guide bedside teams in recognizing and managing patient deterioration with advanced pediatric assessment and intervention.
  • Coordinate Staffing & Resources: Ensure MET coverage, support unit needs during high-acuity situations, and communicate resource gaps in real time.
  • Drive Patient Safety & Quality: Promote adherence to emergency protocols, participate in debriefings, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Educate & Mentor Staff: Deliver real-time coaching and training to nurses and interdisciplinary teams to strengthen emergency response readiness.

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing

  • State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License

  • BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a pediatrics REQUIRED
