Job Title: Sr. Supply Chain Specialist

Location: Houston Texas

Job Type: Full-time (Hybrid)

Pay rate: 120K -130K/annum.

Job overview:

The Senior Technology Procurement Specialist is responsible for leading and executing the full lifecycle end to end for technology-related products and services, including software, hardware, cloud subscriptions, and data solutions. This role operates at a strategic level, partnering closely with IT, Legal, Finance, and business stakeholders to ensure procurement activities around technology investments are commercially optimized, contractually sound, and aligned with enterprise priorities.

This position will proactively manage the vendor relationships, contract negotiations, contract lifecycle management, renewal planning, licensing strategies, and sourcing strategies to maximize long-term value optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Stakeholder Engagement



  • Develop and manage a forward-looking procurement strategy that aligns with technology roadmaps and corporate objectives.
  • Collaborate with IT and business partners to define requirements, evaluate current utilization, and anticipate future demand.
  • Support development of financial justifications for new initiatives and renewals to ensure alignment with budget and strategic priorities.


Sourcing & Commercial Negotiations



  • Lead competitive sourcing events and direct negotiations for enterprise technology solutions, renewals, and subscription agreements.
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives while ensuring favorable commercial terms and risk protections.
  • Establish negotiation objectives and monitor value capture against defined targets.


Contract & Risk Management



  • Oversee end-to-end contract development in coordination with Legal, ensuring compliance with corporate standards and regulatory considerations.
  • Identify and mitigate contractual risks related to data privacy, AI/ML usage, service level agreements, and intellectual property rights.
  • Maintain visibility into key contractual obligations and communicate implications clearly to internal stakeholders.


Supplier Strategy & Optimization



  • Cultivate strategic supplier partnerships to improve performance, innovation, and value delivery.
  • Partner with IT to evaluate vendor overlap, reduce redundancy, and streamline the supplier base.
  • Conduct performance reviews and implement measurable KPIs to assess supplier effectiveness.


Governance & Reporting



  • Provide structured updates to executive and cross-functional leadership on sourcing initiatives, risk exposure, savings realization, and upcoming renewals.
  • Track cost savings, contract milestones, and procurement pipeline activity.
  • Monitor technology and procurement market trends to proactively identify new sourcing opportunities.


Required:



  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Extensive (19 year minimum) procurement, sourcing, or vendor management experience, including significant (minimum 5 years) tenure in technology procurement environments
  • Expertise in negotiating complex software, cloud, data, and hardware agreements
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to influence senior leadership
  • Proficiency with MS Office and enterprise procurement systems


Preferred:



  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, or a related field
  • Experience with ERP and contract lifecycle management platforms [SAP, Ariba, Icertis, etc.]
  • Strong understanding of SaaS licensing models, subscription structures, and enterprise software agreements
  • Proven track record delivering measurable cost savings and risk mitigation outcomes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
