GENERAL FUNCTION

The Site EHS Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs to support injury and illness prevention while ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations within manufacturing and distribution operations.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Design, develop, and implement comprehensive EHS systems, processes, and training programs.
  • Lead all site safety initiatives to ensure compliance with OSHA and other applicable regulatory standards.
  • Interpret OSHA regulations, assess operational impact, and implement necessary program updates.
  • Prepare and submit required documentation to OSHA, EPA, EPD, and GEOS.
  • Maintain accountability for all safety systems, policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Conduct risk assessments and audits, develop mitigation strategies, and drive corrective actions through closure.
  • Lead root cause analysis for incidents and ensure implementation of sustainable corrective actions.
  • Act as primary first responder for EHS-related emergencies.
  • Provide technical safety guidance to site leadership, HR, managers, supervisors, and employees.
  • Partner with Human Resources on workers' compensation cases.
  • Lead ergonomic and injury prevention initiatives to reduce risk and improve performance.
  • Interpret EPA regulations and coordinate site-level compliance initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee industrial hygiene monitoring and testing activities.
  • Track environmental inspections, audit findings, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain waste disposal records in accordance with federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Drive waste minimization and sustainability initiatives.
  • Recommend updates to environmental policies and procedures.
  • Communicate environmental risks, regulatory changes, and cost/benefit impacts to management.
  • Facilitate and conduct environmental training programs.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 8+ years of EHS experience within manufacturing and/or distribution environments.
  • Experience supporting large-scale operations (1,700+ employees preferred).
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Self-starter with a hands-on leadership approach.
  • Proficiency in Power BI, Excel, and Word.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Professional and/or industrial safety certifications (e.g., ASP, CSP, CIH, CHMM or related credentials).
