TITLE: Donor Data Insights Manager

STATUS: EXEMPT - Full Time

SALARY RANGE: $90,000 - $100,000

POSITION SUMMARY

The Insights Manager is a key member of the Donor Data & Insights team, responsible for transforming complex fundraising data into actionable insights using a modern analytics technology stack (Blackbaud CRM, Snowflake Data Warehouse, Amperity Constituent Data Platform, PowerBI Business Intelligence platform).

This role supervises the Donor Data Analyst and provides leadership in reporting and business intelligence (BI) functions. The role works closely with the Data Engineer on Snowflake and CDP architecture, collaborates with Senior Relational Fundraising staff to build a robust pipeline to support one-to-one fundraising disciplines, and collaborates with the MarCom team to optimize the use of the CDP for journey mapping and segmentation.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

Required
Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Marketing Analytics, Statistics, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in business analysis, fundraising/sales analytics, BI/reporting, or donor/customer insights.
Proficiency with Power BI and experience querying data in Snowflake and SQL.
Experience with BBCRM SDK and Amperity CDP for donor data integration and segmentation.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and translate them into clear recommendations.
Demonstrated experience with donor/customer segmentation, retention analytics, and lifecycle modeling.
Supervisory experience or demonstrated ability to lead and mentor analysts.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively across teams.
High attention to detail and a strong sense of data integrity.

Preferred
Experience using AI tools for research, summarization, or donor intelligence.
Familiarity with Blackbaud CRM (BBCRM) or similar fundraising CRM or ERP systems.
Experience with wealth screening tools or donor intelligence platforms.
Knowledge of predictive modeling, forecasting, or advanced analytics.
Experience in nonprofit fundraising environments and understanding of donor engagement strategies.
Familiarity with R or Python for advanced analysis (optional).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Fundraising Business Analysis & Strategic Insights
* Partner with CRD leadership to create and maintain a performance metrics dictionary that is clearly defined.
* Standardize reporting frameworks and metrics across CRD, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
* Understand fundraising business programs and their strategies as they pertain to data informed decision making.
* Supervise the Donor Data Analyst, providing guidance and oversight on all fundraising analytics and reporting projects.
* Partner with fundraising teams to support data-informed decision-making, ensuring all analysis is grounded in the unified data environment.

Business Intelligence, Reporting & Data Visualization
* Lead and supervise the development and maintenance of dashboards and automated analytics tools in Power BI, with direct oversight of the Donor Data Analyst's contributions.
* Evaluate appropriate use of PowerBI apps, metrics, measures, workspaces, and context filters for integration with BBCRM
* Create intuitive visualizations that help non-technical audiences quickly understand performance and impact.

Pipeline Analysis
* Leverage constituent data from BBCRM, snowflake, Amperity, and AI research tools to combine research insights with analytical findings, creating integrated donor profiles and opportunity assessments.
* Analyze data to identify indicators of donor capacity, propensity, and engagement.
* Recommend and implement scalable processes for providing prospect intelligence to divisional development teams.
* Collaborate with the Data Engineer to optimize data pipelines and integrations for donor and prospect intelligence.

Customer Data Platform & MarCom Collaboration
* Work with MarCom business users to understand business use cases for segmentation within the CDP.
* Collaborate with Amperity & the Donor Data Engineer to provide modeling and data structures that support such use cases
* Understand and contribute to decisions on how to provide tech stack architecture that supports omnichannel donor journeys

CRM, Data Quality & Requirements Definition
* Collaborate with CRM, Data Engineering, and Business Operations teams to ensure Snowflake and BBCRM data structures support analytical and research needs.
* Help define requirements for new fields, segmentation logic, and dataset enhancements within the tech stack.
* Contribute to data validation efforts and ensure accuracy and consistency in datasets used for reporting and research.

Executive Reporting, Presentations & Ad Hoc Analysis
* Prepare data-driven presentations, reports, and dashboards in Power BI for CRD and territorial leadership.
* Communicate findings clearly to teams at all levels, tailoring messaging for both technical and non-technical audiences
* Support high-priority analysis requests with clear, timely, and actionable insights, leveraging the full tech stack for rapid data access and visualization.
* Develop visual storytelling that helps leaders understand trends, implications, and recommended next steps.
