Your Job: Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Data & Insights Business Lead to accelerate value creation through the thoughtful use of data and analytics within the Packaging & Cellulose (P&C) business segment. This role focuses on managing connected data and analytics strategies and roadmaps for selected businesses, along with exploring, experimenting, and prototyping solutions that advance segment-wide data and analytics thinking and adoption. We are looking for a contribution-motivated individual with strong business acumen, passion and expertise in exploring and connecting data and insights with business needs, and the ability to build and foster productive partnerships to drive successful solution delivery.

Our Team: The P&C Data & Insights Management team provides thought leadership, structure, and solutions that improve the quality and value of information used across the organization to make timely and effective decisions. Each team member has a strong contribution and transformational mindset coupled with technical and critical thinking skills. The Data & Insights Business Lead will report to the Data & Insights Management Leader.

Location: This role will work directly from our GP office in Atlanta, Georgia. While GP offers some work location flexibility, we have a hybrid approach that includes a weekly in-office presence.

What You Will Do

  • Develop a fundamental understanding of the businesses that you support and how they presently leverage data and analytics to operate and make critical business decisions.
  • Explore and capture current and anticipate future data and analytics needs of the business.
  • Develop and maintain a data and analytics strategic vision and roadmap for the business that balances desired outcomes with economically and technically viable solutions.
  • Explore, connect, and experiment with currently available data to help uncover solutions to business needs while also identifying opportunities to improve the current data ecosystem.
  • Perform targeted innovation and prototyping to advance data-driven problem solving and advance business thinking regarding the untapped potential of leveraging data in new ways.
  • Provide valuation and prioritization of opportunities, and in partnership with IT, leverage tools and processes to eliminate waste and enable a faster path to new analytical capabilities.
  • Engage in respectful challenge and discussion with business owners, data owners, and the IT team to drive timely and effective decision making; collaborate with capabilities such as accounting, supply chain, finance.
  • Foster a strong partnership with IT counterparts to ensure strategic and tactical alignment with timely and quality solution delivery.
  • Think and act like the decision maker to anticipate business needs, provide recommendations, and continuously improve knowledge processes.
  • Drive action and change, be inquisitive, and push boundaries while demonstrating humility.
  • Advance the Principle-Based Management (PBM) culture by applying and reinforcing the company's values.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Career experience in finance, strategy, supply chain, data insights or related role(s) that demonstrates an understanding of analysis and business intelligence, key business drivers, meaningful metrics, and data literacy
  • You are a strong economic and strategic thinker, and have the confidence and analytical capability to frame and evaluate complex problems, develop a point of view, and provide decision support
  • You are data literate and have advanced knowledge and skills enabling you to access, explore, extract, and transform data using tools and techniques such as Excel, SQL, and Power BI
  • You communicate well across a matrix delivery model; you keep stakeholders informed and engaged; you build trusted and respected relationships
  • You are transformation focused and contribution motivated; you embrace change and seek to bridge gaps between partners; you are a driver of company initiatives

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Business, Data Analytics or related field
  • Experience formulating strategies and roadmaps to advance data and analytics initiatives
  • Experience with technical data modeling, data management, and architectural concepts
  • Experience with experimenting and prototyping business-facing data and analytics solutions
  • Experience in the Manufacturing sector
  • Experience in leading projects and portfolios, with an understanding of a range of project management methodologies such as waterfall and agile
