The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources at R B Winter Park Complex is looking for a hardworking individual to fill the role of Park Maintenance Worker. In this position, you will get to work in a stunning natural setting while helping to maintain the park's facilities and grounds.


DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will engage in semi-skilled maintenance and repair tasks across various trades, particularly in building, mechanical, and electrical areas. Your responsibilities will include performing minor routine repairs, as well as assisting a journeyman tradesman or maintenance supervisor with more complex maintenance tasks. You will also conduct preventative and operational maintenance on facilities and equipment, which involves cleaning and making basic repairs. Routine building maintenance duties will require you to use hand and power tools for tasks like painting, re-shingling roofs, and fixing spouting, flashing, screens, and windows. Additionally, you will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing rental cottages, restrooms, pavilions, and other park facilities. Your role will also involve replacing bulbs and switches, assisting with electrical maintenance, and caring for electrical motors. You may mix cement and mortar, help with masonry work, and construct cement forms, while also supporting skilled tradesmen in grounds maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical projects.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026, until November 2026, at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment approximately March 2027.
  • Work shifts/days vary, will work 5 days/37.5 hours per week to include weekends and holidays
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
