DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position performs the full range of supervisory duties including employee selection, training, scheduling and monitoring work performance. You will be responsible for overseeing automated refrigeration and HVAC systems, the water treatment program for assigned facilities, and the preparation of expenditure projections. You can expect to perform consultative, liaison, and problem resolution duties with building occupants and outside contractors. Additional duties include participating in the design of HVAC systems, responding to emergency call-in requests and ensuring recovery and recycling of refrigerants. It will be essential to maintain current knowledge of the rules and regulations in accordance with the Federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and other authorities. You will have the opportunity to serve as agency representative with outside contractors, agency personnel, and other trade staff regarding the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of refrigeration and HVAC systems.

- Full-time employment
- Essential Employee - Required to report to work during emergencies and office closings.
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six years of experience in the maintenance, repair, and installation of HVAC and refrigeration systems, units, and equipment including four years working with commercial or industrial HVAC equipment and controls; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes four years working with commercial or industrial HVAC or refrigeration equipment and controls.
Special Requirements:
- Must be in possession of an active EPA Universal Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification.
- Must possess of an active motor vehicle license.
Additional Requirements:
- You must possess two years of experience in progressively responsible and varied supervisory work, including experience in personnel supervision, budgeting, or procurement.
- You must possess two years of experience in coordinating and performing maintenance to a chiller & boiler systems, cooling towers (cleaning tubes, performing water treatment testing and analysis, etc).
- You must possess two years of experience using a computerized maintenance management system or work order system.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
