Primary Function

The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, safety, and operational integrity of the facility. This role ensures that all facility systems including security, sanitation, HVAC, and infrastructure are functioning optimally and in compliance with federal standards and protocols.

All services shall be provided in accordance with established standards, principles and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which Acuity International is recognized. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor daily facility operations including maintenance, janitorial services, and security systems.

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for equipment and infrastructure.

  • Respond promptly to facility-related emergencies and service disruptions.

  • Ensure compliance with Performance-Based National Detention Standards (PBNDS), OSHA, and other regulatory requirements.

  • Liaise with contractors, vendors, and internal departments to manage repairs, upgrades, and inspections.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and service requests.

  • Support space planning, renovations, and facility improvement projects.

  • Monitor inventory and procurement of supplies and equipment.

  • Assist with environmental and energy conservation initiatives.

  • Participate in audits and inspections conducted by government client or other oversight bodies.

Job Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or related field.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in facility operations, preferably in secure or institutional environments.

  • DHS SSBI clearance or eligibility to obtain one.

  • Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security).

  • Familiarity with federal detention standards and compliance protocols.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work in a high-security, high-pressure environment.

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Must be a US citizen or permanent resident, Resided in the US for 3 years in the past 5 years.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPR/First Aid certification

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish or other language)

  • Has undergone a federal investigation at the level of Tier 2 or higher; has been granted favorable suitability/eligibility and has not had a break in service for more than 24 months.

  • Ability to travel

Physical Requirements and Work Conditions

  • Ability to ascend/descend stairs

  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

  • Able to withstand changing environmental conditions with weather (rain, lightning, and winds)

  • Able to withstand and manipulate through construction areas, sports fields, etc.

  • Work is performed in secure detention facility settings and office environments, including austere conditions.

  • Requires extended periods of sitting, standing, and operational oversight.

  • May require evening, weekend, or on-call hours.

  • Exposure to operational and emergency response situations.
