Primary Function

The Logistics Manager is responsible for supervising the logistic services team in an on-site shelter facility. Responsible for the oversight of supply chain services, property management, inventory, clothing, laundry and valuables. Liaison with the corporate contract and supply management office to ensure Acuity policies and procedures are being followed and that contractual deliverables are met. Responsible for the completion of assignments related to supporting the needs of the department.

All services shall be provided in accordance with established standards, principles and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which Acuity International is recognized. Responsibilities

  • Supervises all functional areas within the logistics department

  • Develop and implement processes to ensure adequate management of GFP (Government Furnished Property) from acquisition through final disposition

  • Responsible for overall performance of the logistics department to include adequate practices for the management of supply chain, property control, inventory, laundry services, etc..

  • Enforces corporate policies in regard to compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to supply chain and property management

  • Monitor performance and implement corrective actions for deficiencies identified during daily review of functional areas

  • Develops a motor-pool process to ensure proper utilization and maintenance of vehicles

  • Develop schedules and inventory processes that meet the needs of the residents in the facility

  • Coordinates logistics services with site leadership

  • Responsible for timely updates to applicable policies and procedures related to Logistics operations

  • Develop and maintain metrics to measure performance of all functional areas of the department

  • Develop and implement processes to ensure property is issued and returned correctly and in a timely fashion

  • Keeps documentation of all inventories

  • Ensures policies and procedures are followed at all times

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, human services or similar occupational area

  • At a minimum, eight (8) years of procurement and personal property management experience.

  • At a minimum, five (5) years of experience in working with architects and construction companies in the building out of new office space for 25 offices or more.

  • Demonstrated experience shall include personal property/supplies needs analysis, and the acquisition, tracking, inventorying, reporting, maintenance and repair, and disposal of personal property in a Government environment.

  • Must have demonstrated experience in maintaining personal property databases.

  • Must have demonstrated experience in managing an inventory of at least 15,000 tracked items (i.e., quantities, not line items).

  • Must have demonstrated knowledge of Federal property management regulations.

  • Experience in office relocations is desirable.

  • 1 year of supervisory experience

  • Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized and have excellent verbal and communication skills

  • Proficiency with computer and common office equipment, as well as with MS Office products

  • Ability to obtain and maintain favorable background investigations

  • Must be proficient in English; able to receive and understand detailed information through oral and written communication.

  • Meet the requirements of the contract for all immunizations.

  • Ability to work full time hours, weekends, and holidays.

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Must be a US citizen or permanent resident, Resided in the US for 3 years in the past 5 years.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 year of residential facility experience preferred

  • CPR/First Aid certification

  • Bilingual

  • Has undergone a federal investigation at the level of Tier 2 or higher; has been granted favorable suitability/eligibility and has not had a break in service for more than 24 months.

  • Ability to travel

Physical Requirements and Work Conditions

  • Ability to ascend/descend stairs

  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

  • Visual acuity required to complete paperwork, computer work.

  • Able to communicate verbally and listen for constant surveillance of staff activities

  • Able to withstand changing environmental conditions with weather (rain, lightning, and winds)

  • Able to withstand and manipulate through construction areas, sports fields, etc.

  • Work is performed in secure detention facility settings and office environments, including austere conditions.

  • Requires extended periods of sitting, standing, and operational oversight.

  • Able to receive and understand detailed information through oral communication
