DevOps Engineer Compensation & Benefits: Estimated Starting Salary Range for DevOps Engineer: Pay commensurate with experience. $120,000- $130,000 Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice. Essential Functions & Duties:
Performing system administration tasks (For example: user management, security configuration, and general maintenance). Monitoring system performance, identifying and resolving issues to ensure high availability. Automating the provisioning and configuration of containerized applications, ensuring consistent and efficient deployments. Vulnerability management via proactive and appropriately prioritized configuration updates and application upgrades. Linux scripting and running command line functions. Collaborating with teams to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and document procedures. Web application deployments using reverse proxies, Apache Tomcat applications, and MYSQL/PostgreSQL databases.
Skills, Qualifications and Certifications of Best Candidates:
2+ years of experience with deploying, managing, monitoring, and upgrading resources in AWS. Experience using Terraform/OpenTofu for Infrastructure as Code. Demonstrable containerization management experience (Kubernetes/Helm/Docker/ECS/Podman) Experience using configuration management tools such as Salt or Ansible. Demonstrable troubleshooting skills. Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Atlassian suite system administration (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, and Crowd) Experience using centralized logging such as Splunk and CloudWatch. Experience using/administering artifact repositories such as Artifactory or Nexus. Experience using monitoring and performance analytics tools such as Datadog or New Relic. Experience in managing SQL databases (Example: PostgreSQL, MYSQL).
Desirable Additional Skills:
Experience with optimizing both SQL queries and database systems, preferably PostgreSQL. Experience with developer code quality and static analysis tools such as SonarQube, Checkmarx, Veracode. Any relevant certifications would be an added advantage. Experience creating CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Bamboo and GitHub Actions. Experience and advanced knowledge of using Git.
