DevOps Engineer

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for DevOps Engineer: Pay commensurate with experience. $120,000- $130,000

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Essential Functions & Duties:

  • Performing system administration tasks (For example: user management, security configuration, and general maintenance).

  • Monitoring system performance, identifying and resolving issues to ensure high availability.

  • Automating the provisioning and configuration of containerized applications, ensuring consistent and efficient deployments.

  • Vulnerability management via proactive and appropriately prioritized configuration updates and application upgrades.

  • Linux scripting and running command line functions.

  • Collaborating with teams to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and document procedures.

  • Web application deployments using reverse proxies, Apache Tomcat applications, and MYSQL/PostgreSQL databases.

Skills, Qualifications and Certifications of Best Candidates:

  • 2+ years of experience with deploying, managing, monitoring, and upgrading resources in AWS.

  • Experience using Terraform/OpenTofu for Infrastructure as Code.

  • Demonstrable containerization management experience (Kubernetes/Helm/Docker/ECS/Podman)

  • Experience using configuration management tools such as Salt or Ansible.

  • Demonstrable troubleshooting skills.

  • Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Atlassian suite system administration (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, and Crowd)

  • Experience using centralized logging such as Splunk and CloudWatch.

  • Experience using/administering artifact repositories such as Artifactory or Nexus.

  • Experience using monitoring and performance analytics tools such as Datadog or New Relic.

  • Experience in managing SQL databases (Example: PostgreSQL, MYSQL).

Desirable Additional Skills:

  • Experience with optimizing both SQL queries and database systems, preferably PostgreSQL.

  • Experience with developer code quality and static analysis tools such as SonarQube, Checkmarx, Veracode.

  • Any relevant certifications would be an added advantage.

  • Experience creating CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Bamboo and GitHub Actions.

  • Experience and advanced knowledge of using Git.

Citizenship or Work Authorization Required:

  • Ability to attain Federal Government Position of Trust.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must pass a background investigation.

Required Education, certification & Experience:

  • A BS degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science, from an ABET accredited or CAE designated institution fulfills the educational requirement.
