Job Summary:

The Fleet Director is responsible for developing and executing strategies that achieve or exceed safety, financial, operational, and customer performance goals across D&Z's nuclear customer fleet. This role drives the D&Z culture and values while reinforcing accountability, disciplined use of established processes and procedures, consistency in execution, and continuous improvement across the business line.



The Fleet Director provides leadership in operational performance, workforce alignment, and customer engagement while supporting business development initiatives, long-range planning, and strategic resource management. This position also evaluates the competitive environment and serves as the Business Line representative in the development and refinement of operational processes and procedures aligned with the "D&Z Way."



In partnership with the Operations Vice President, the Fleet Director shares responsibility for overall Business Line performance, including financial results, ensuring sustainable growth, operational excellence, and strong customer partnerships.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the strategic account manager responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with key customer stakeholders. Drive customer satisfaction while identifying opportunities to expand the scope and volume of services provided by D&Z.
  • Achieve and exceed business performance goals across the Business Line, including financial performance, operational execution, growth objectives, customer retention, and safety performance across multiple client sites.
  • Champion D&Z's safety culture and values by demonstrating visible leadership and accountability for safety performance. Establish clear expectations and oversight to ensure effective execution of both customer and D&Z safety programs across the entire Business Line.
  • Lead tactical reviews of fleet-wide outage and project plans to ensure readiness and that organizational resources are prioritized, aligned, and deployed to meet contract requirements. Maintain strong governance of project and contract management practices across the Business Line.
  • Partner closely with our customers and union partners to achieve shared objectives, resolve operational challenges, and promote best practices in staffing, workforce planning, and execution. Foster a collaborative "One Team" execution culture that drives operational consistency and performance across the organization.

KSAs (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Technical / Industry Expertise - Demonstrated experience in maintenance and/or construction management within the power generation industry. Experience with a Maintenance & Modification (M&M) contractor is highly preferred but not required. Possesses strong knowledge of project management and project controls, preferably at an enterprise or multi-site level, with the ability to lead both project-based and operations & maintenance (O&M) scopes of work.
  • Operational Leadership - Highly action-oriented and accountable for results. Consistently drives performance against business goals while maintaining focus on safety, quality, and execution discipline. Clearly assigns responsibility for tasks and decisions, holds teams accountable for outcomes, and works through others to achieve results while maintaining a strategic, big-picture view of key initiatives.
  • Business & Financial Acumen -Strong understanding of business operations and financial drivers, including cost management, revenue generation, and profitability. Demonstrates the ability to interpret key financial metrics, analyze business performance, and implement corrective actions or growth strategies. Possesses a clear understanding of the competitive marketplace and how business strategy and operational performance influence customer perception and market share.
  • Strategic Account Management (SAM) -Demonstrates the ability to build and sustain strong, long-term strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders, particularly at senior leadership levels. Creates value through trusted partnerships that strengthen contract performance, influence customer decision-making, and expand the scope and volume of services provided by D&Z. Engages customers vertically across the organization to enhance the strategic value of D&Z partnerships. Communicates clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to convey complex information in a concise manner while influencing stakeholders, aligning priorities, and facilitating sound decision-making across diverse teams.
  • Union Workforce Leadership - Demonstrated experience working within a unionized labor environment, including collaboration with building trades and union leadership. Ability to build strong labor-management partnerships that support workforce stability, effective staffing strategies, and successful project and outage execution. Multi-Site Outage & Project Management Experience overseeing outage and project execution across multiple sites or a fleet environment. Demonstrated ability to coordinate workforce resources, align schedules, and manage competing priorities while maintaining strong execution discipline and customer commitments.
  • Safety-Conscious Work Environment Leadership -Strong commitment to maintaining and reinforcing a Safety-Conscious Work Environment (SCWE). Ability to lead safety culture initiatives, promote conservative decision-making, and ensure adherence to both customer and company safety standards across all operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • College degree in a technical field or Business preferred
  • Master's degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS) or MBA in related field preferred
  • 15+ years of relevant projects and construction experience or has successfully served as a Director of Projects required
  • OSHA 30 preferred
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred




In compliance with applicable state pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $194,640 - $291,960. This range is not a guarantee of compensation, as final offer amounts may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to employees may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
