Join us and help run what runs the world. This position reports to: IS Application Manager - SAP Basis __ The SAP Basis Administrator will be part of the Common Americas IS organization. The SAP Basis team is responsible for the technical infrastructure and operation of SAP Systems for both the Common Americas IS (AMSAP) organization and the Distinct Motion NEMA (MONM) organization. Key Responsibilities: Fulfill Basis responsibilities to support ABB BUILD Initiatives like the following. Basis support for merger and acquisition projects Basis support for process improvement projects including but not limited to system-to-system integrations Basis support for ABB's long-term strategies including but not limited to migrating to S4 HANA and cloud-based solutions Fulfill Basis responsibilities to support ABB RUN Initiatives like the following. Basis support for system patching to ensure ABB's SAP systems are highly secure Basis support for ensuring ABB's SAP systems perform optimally and are highly available Basis support for ensuring good QA systems for User Acceptance Testing efforts for active projects Technical Skills: A good understanding of SAP architecture and infrastructure A good understanding of installing, configuring, and upgrading SAP systems and related soft-ware A good understanding of applying support packages, kernel updates, and other application server libraries A good understanding of system refreshes A good understanding of SAP's change management system (STMS, ChaRM) A good understanding of monitoring system performance to identify and resolve issues A good understanding of SAP integration concepts (ALE, tRFCs, RFC Destinations) Other Skills: Possess good collaboration skills Adherence to ABB's change management policies Troubleshooting skills to properly identify root causes An understanding of project management Possess good documentation skills Building a cleaner, smarter future takes all kinds of minds: the curious, the courageous, and the creative.
