Description

The Assistant Dean and Director role will have oversight and administration of the following graduate Bible and theology degrees: Master of Arts in Christian Ministry, Master of Theological Studies, Master of Divinity, and Doctor of Ministry. This position also includes part-time teaching in Biblical Studies.

General Duties for the Director of the Hazelip School of Theology:



  • Ensures the quality and integrity of the academic life at the Hazelip School in accordance with its mission and vision by exercising executive oversight and management of the curriculum, all degree programs, and all other academic programs and activities
  • Coordinates with all graduate program directors, department staff, and committees of the graduate faculty
  • Develops strategic programming initiatives (credit and non-credit) in consultation with the CBM dean
  • Supervises faculty on academic matters, including professional development and evaluation
  • Represents faculty concerns to the CBM dean
  • Maintains the academic calendar, and publishing of all course schedules and descriptions
  • Provides Hazelip students with the institutional resources necessary for their academic, personal, and spiritual growth and well-being
  • Represents Hazelip at various academic, civic, and church events
  • Represents Hazelip to the Association of Theological Schools and the Commission on Accrediting as the school's Chief Academic Officer
  • Fosters, maintains, and pursues appropriate partnerships with other mission-related institutions and organizations, as the Dean may direct
  • Manages payroll for adjunct compensation and contract requirements for full-time faculty
  • Collaborates with Graduate Admissions for student recruitment, including review of all applications and acceptances to the school
  • Collaborates with University Marketing on web site content and other marketing strategies
  • Ensures effective coordination with broader university systems for student support
  • Pursues fundraising and grant initiatives in consultation with the CBM dean
  • Manages scholarship awards from CBM-specific endowments and spendable gift accounts


Qualifications:



  • Ph.D. in biblical studies
  • Strong church commitment (preaching and pastoral ministry experience a plus)
  • Proven experience in academic administration (work with the Association of Theological Schools a plus)
