Inside the Role

Support the Small Business Vocational Strategy by reviewing, analyzing, and implementing best practices specific to vocational specialized equipment and credit buying. Support analysts in building profitable annual vocational acquistions by improving & increasing book to approval and cashing percentages. Work with sales, remarketing and dealers to help minimize losses specifically due to vocational equipment. Train SME vocational analysts to ensure consistant buying practices on vocational equipment. Collaborate closely with other Regional Credit Managers in Small Business as well as other departments to ensure Customer One focus when resolving all dealer or customer issues. Provide insight and expertise in regards to vocational equipment and customers in collaboration with Daimler Truck North America and Daimler Truck Financial Services sales teams to ensure strategic growth in vocational segments. This position will also be assisting with the Canadian portfolio and applications and providing guidance/feedback to the NASC in Mexico.

What you drive at DTFS:

  • Review credit policies and procedures for efficiencies for the Small Business Credit department specifically for vocational segments. Assist with communicating the credit risk strategies to Small Business Credit Team to ensure adherence to local and global credit rules. Collaborate with DTNA and DTFS sales teams as well as Credit Operations in regards to finance programs tailored to vocational customers in order to strategically grow the DTFS portfolio.

  • Provide KPI monthly reports for analysis of portfolio performance related to delinquency, repossessions, volume, RoRac, and credit quality in order to make adjustments to meet goals specifically for vocational segments. Provide continuing education and training specific to vocational equipment. Maintain and build vocational training platform for the entire credit team. Ensure implementation of skills, strategy and knowledge is utilized for consistent credit analysis.

  • Work with Collections, Sales and Remarketing to review post mortem and losses on vocational customers. Identify trends in the vocational portfolio performance, looking at all risk aspects within those specific segments. Based on Business Cycle Management activities, be prepared to quickly identify and react to any downturn in economy and how it might impact current portfolio.

  • Attend monthly meetings in regards to portfolio performance and pricing. Work with Small Business Credit Manager and DTFS Sales team on overall credit strategies. Travel and present as needed to truck auctions, dealers, trade shows and body builders to support vocational strategy.

  • Review credit deals up to $1,000,000 that are outside LOA's for Analyst and/or Senior Analyst.

Knowledge you should bring

  • BS and 5 years of relevant work experience or 8years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • 3 years retail or commercial credit experience in a collateral based environment.
  • Previous management experience and/or experience leading teams of people
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general PC skills.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data, identify trends, and interpret complex information.

Exceptional Candidates Might Have:

  • Knowledge of Credit systems; Cognos; Tableau.
  • Experience managing dealer relationships and acting as the key connection between dealership finance departments and the lender's credit team.
  • Review credit deals up to $1,000,000 that are outside LOA's for Analyst and/or Senior Analyst.
  • Sales and Operations experience: District Sales / Finance Manager, Collections, Customer Service.
