JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER II

LOCATION: Chatsworth, CA

SHIFT: Monday - Thursday (6:15 AM - 4:45 PM)

Key Responsibilities
Industrial Engineering (50%)

• Perform value stream mapping and workflow optimization.
• Develop and maintain labor standards and capacity models.
• Identify and eliminate production bottlenecks.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and Kaizen events.
• Analyze production KPIs such as:
  
  
  
  • Throughput
  • OEE
  • WIP levels
  • Cycle time
  
  
  
  
• Design and implement improved factory layouts and material flow systems.
• Support production line balancing across machining, composites, finishing, and testing.

Manufacturing Engineering (50%)

• Develop and improve manufacturing processes and tooling.
• Provide technical support for machining, fiberglass layup, foam operations, finishing, painting, and electrical testing.
• Create and maintain detailed manufacturing documentation and work instructions.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) and transition to production.
• Investigate root causes of production issues and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with quality engineering on process capability improvements.
• Specify and implement fixtures, tooling, and equipment improvements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
• 3-8 years of experience in manufacturing environments
• Strong experience with Lean manufacturing tools and process improvement
• Experience supporting production engineering activities
• Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
• Independently develop manufacturing cells layouts, equipment layouts, and facility floor plans
• Designs or modifies basic tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing aids to support production processes.
• Uses CAD tools to support:
  
  
  
  • Production line balancing and flow optimization
  • Equipment integration into existing manufacturing systems
  • Ergonomic workstation design
  • Space utilization and capacity planning
  
  
  
  
• Any other job duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace manufacturing
• Knowledge of machining and composite manufacturing processes
• Six Sigma Green Belt
• Experience with ERP/MES systems

$90,000.00 - $115,000.00 / year
