HJF is seeking a Biostatistician IV to support the research portfolio of the Center for Deployment Psychology (CDP) at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD. The position involves performing advanced statistical analysis on data collected from clinical trials and/or research studies.

This position will be in support of Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences' Center for Deployment Psychology (CDP), which is based in Bethesda, MD. The Biostatistician IV will assist with activities related to CDP's mission, which is to lead the development of a community of military culturally mindful and clinically competent providers through the delivery of high-quality training and education, the convening of experts, and the dissemination of research-based treatment and the latest topics in military behavioral health. CDP strives to be the central hub for the Military Health System (MHS) in the development and implementation of training and education to clinicians in order to ensure that all service members, veterans, and their families receive quality behavioral healthcare that meets their unique needs. The Henry M. Jackson Foundation provides administrative and management support to the Center.

A key CDP initiative is the Military Child & Family Collaboratory, which leverages tele-education and telehealth to increase the capacity of military treatment facilities (MTFs) and community providers to deliver high-quality, culturally responsive care to military-connected children and families. Building on this work, CDP has recently received additional funding to launch multiple, interrelated lines of research aligned with the Collaboratory's goals. The Biostatistician will be working on studies using electronic medical record data from the Military Health System to examine clinic-, provider-, and patient-level factors (e.g., staffing, caseloads, parental military characteristics) associated with access to care and early dropout from psychotherapy. Analyses will also evaluate links to downstream, high-cost health care utilization (e.g., emergency department visits, hospitalizations) and examine intergenerational associations between parental military exposures and child mental health outcomes. In parallel, additional studies will assess the feasibility and acceptability of a novel telehealth referral network at one or more MHS sites and identify barriers and facilitators to care through surveys of providers and military-connected families.
