Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide manufacturing engineeringexpertiseto support the management team, collaborate on process improvement, and contribute to continuous improvement/cost reduction efforts with minimal supervision or under the guidance of a senior Manufacturing Engineer
  • Performtime studies toidentifypotential process improvement, apply the theory of constraints toidentifybottlenecks, andoptimizework content for improved line flow
  • Analyzeoperational data tooptimizeequipment and workspace layout, following lean manufacturing principles &Utilizingthe PDCA process to evaluate process changes for performance improvement recommendations
  • Recommendmethods for improving worker effectiveness, safety, quality, and cost reduction. This may involve restructuring job duties,optimizingworkflow based on PDS principles,relocatingworkstations and equipment, and considering new equipment purchases
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing engineering team to create work instructions, training checklists, and training matrices; partner with the Safety Manager toestablishsafe procedures and enhance ergonomics in the manufacturing process
  • Collaboratewith cross-functional teams to improve manufacturability in new product development and create production process guidelines, measurement parameters, and cost estimates for both new and existing products
  • Collaborateon equipment/tool design for production processes andfacilitateequipment procurement through quotes/bids
  • Supportsenior manufacturing engineers with capital investment projects andpossibly managesmall capital projects (including the creation of funding requests)
  • Assistwith the evaluation of hourly employee's job skill knowledge (JSK) requirements
  • Become skilled in the use of tools in the lean toolbox (e.g., root cause analysis, PDCA, kaizen, 5S, etc.)

Your Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 2 o 4 years of Experience

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $31.74 to $50.74 in Minnesota. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
