Overview

Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Contract Specialist to support Special Operations Forces Acquisition, Technology and Logistics' (SOF AT&L) Acquisition Operations (AO). Acquisition Operations (AO) enables SOF AT&L execution by providing enterprise policy integration, program security, urgent capability coordination, and leadership-level management tools and metrics. AO tracks incoming requirements and accelerates solutions through SOFCIDS, ensuring operator-driven needs are funded and fielded quickly while maintaining compliance and audit readiness.

AO also serves as SOF AT&L's gateway for international acquisition and partner engagement-supporting foreign military sales, cooperative R&D, technology release and disclosure, foreign comparative testing, and crisis support-while connecting operational stakeholders to acquisition pathways that deliver secure capabilities at the speed of need.

This is a full-time position located at MacDill AFB, FL



Responsibilities

    Support a full range of moderate to complex acquisitions and contract activities.
  • Prepare various pre and post-award contractual documents for approval by the Government Contracting Officer.
  • Assist with contract administration and acquisition planning to include, but not limited to, performing market research, recommending procurement strategies, request for proposal (RFP) preparation, and providing expert assistance in supporting proposal evaluations.
  • Assisting the Government Contracting Officer in negotiations,
  • Assisting with reviews of contractor performance and investigating reports of contract discrepancies.
  • Provide expertise and experience with both Firm Fixed Price and Cost Reimbursable type contracts.
  • Contracting Specialists may support classified and unclassified programs within SOF AT&L-K.


Qualifications

Minimum Experience:

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Clearance: Must possess and maintain a Secret clearance
Certifications: DAWIA Practitioner Equivalency (DAWIA level II equivalent), and in the Contracting field.
Education: Bachelor's degree in business, contracts, or other relevant discipline
Years of Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in contract administration, including:

  • Minimum of 5 years supporting DoD acquisition programs
