Our client is seeking a Controller to lead accounting operations and support continued expansion through acquisitions. This role will oversee a small accounting team, manage core financial reporting and close processes, and partner closely with executive leadership to strengthen internal controls and financial infrastructure. The Controller will play a key role in integrating newly acquired businesses, ensuring financial systems, reporting, and accounting processes are aligned across entities. Responsibilities: Lead and develop the accounting team, overseeing daily operations across general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial reporting. Manage the monthly close process and deliver accurate financial reporting packages for leadership. Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and oversee multi-entity and multi-location consolidations. Partner with executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives. Support the financial integration of acquired companies, including aligning accounting processes, systems, and historical financial data. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth onboarding and financial visibility of newly acquired entities. Strengthen and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures to support scalable growth. Lead preparation for annual audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors. Partner with leadership to improve cash management practices and financial processes. Assist with ERP and financial system enhancements or implementations to improve reporting efficiency. Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and improve financial visibility across the organization. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with prior Controller or senior accounting leadership experience. Strong understanding of GAAP and multi-entity accounting environments. Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, including post-acquisition financial integration. Background working within growth-oriented or acquisition-driven organizations. Experience with ERP systems and system implementations preferred. CPA preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills. Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
