Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Vehicle Patrol Driver in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a government transportation location as an armed, driving patrol officer. You will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols across facilities and transit areas, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and service requests with clear communication and customer-focused support. You will document activity, coordinate with site partners, and bring integrity, teamwork, and an agile approach to every shift.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including requesting law enforcement and/or medical assistance when needed and completing required reports.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, parking areas, platforms, and/or perimeter areas; working environments and conditions may vary by post assignment.
  • Monitor and control access points, verify identification and/or credentials, and assist with screening processes as required by post orders.
  • Observe for suspicious activity, prohibited items, and/or policy violations, help to deter unauthorized activity through visible presence, and communicate updates to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A minimum of 1 year of armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience is required.
  • An armed guard card and/or license is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A 40 caliber endorsement is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
