Field Service Coordinator

Position Summary

As a Field Service Coordinator, you will serve as both the operational coordinator and hands-on field leader for conveyor service work. This is a working role that combines job scheduling, customer coordination, and technician oversight with active participation in field service execution, including installation, repair, and maintenance of conveyor systems.

You will ensure jobs are properly planned, staffed, and executed while also working alongside technicians in the field to deliver safe, high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities

Coordination & Operations

  • Coordinate and schedule field service jobs to ensure timely and efficient completion
  • Act as the primary point of contact between customers, technicians, and internal teams
  • Review job scope, plan labor/equipment needs, and ensure readiness prior to dispatch
  • Monitor daily schedules and adjust for emergencies, delays, or changing priorities
  • Maintain accurate job tracking, service records, and technician performance data
  • Collaborate with sales, shop, and inventory teams to ensure resource availability
  • Handle customer communication, including updates, issue resolution, and follow-ups

Field Leadership & Execution (Working Role)

  • Perform field service work including installation, repair, and replacement of conveyor belting and components
  • Lead and supervise field crews on job sites
  • Load/unload trucks and ensure all tools, materials, and equipment are job-ready
  • Set up job sites including conveyors, clamps, counterweights, and work areas
  • Install and vulcanize conveyor belts (lightweight and heavyweight)
  • Perform hot and cold splicing and belt repairs
  • Conduct belt audits and inspections
  • Operate equipment such as winches, winders, and belt handling systems
  • Work in industrial environments, including heights and all-weather conditions

Quoting & Job Costing

  • Develop and provide quotes for field service labor, repairs, and conveyor belt installations
  • Assess job scope, labor requirements, materials, and equipment needs to build accurate estimates
  • Collaborate with sales and customers to define project scope, timelines, and pricing expectations
  • Ensure quotes align with company pricing standards, margins, and operational capabilities
  • Adjust quotes as needed based on field conditions, change orders, or unforeseen challenges
  • Track actual job performance vs. estimates to improve future quoting accuracy

Training & Team Development

  • Train and mentor lower-level technicians on proper procedures and safety practices
  • Provide guidance on installation techniques, equipment use, and job execution
  • Support onboarding and development of new technicians
  • Reinforce company standards, safety expectations, and work quality

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies
  • Promote a strong safety culture across all job sites
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work environments

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in field service coordination, lead technician, or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of conveyor systems, belting, and splicing methods
  • Ability to lead crews while also performing hands-on technical work
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced, field-driven environment
  • Proficiency with scheduling systems and basic computer tools

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in conveyor belt installation, repair, or field service
  • Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or mechanical environments preferred

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to lift 75-100 lbs regularly
  • Ability to work at heights and in all weather conditions
  • Ability to travel, including out-of-state as needed
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and on-call rotations
  • Valid driver's license (CDL preferred)
