Summary:

The Director - Laboratory Operations for NorDx at Maine Medical Center Portland is responsible for overall operations of assigned NorDxmanaged hospital laboratory, providing leadership to Laboratory Site Managers and Supervisors. This role oversees daytoday operations, longrange planning, staffing oversight, and service delivery across assigned sites. The Director acts as a key resource for resolving customer, patient care, and systemlevel service issues, and ensures alignment with organizational goals.

The position leads standardization and performance initiatives across hospital locations, builds strong relationships with hospital leadership, and represents NorDx on Clinical Laboratory Advisory Committees. The Director ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, oversees hiring and disciplinary decisions as escalated, and approves budget requests for their division.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred
  2. License/Certifications: Certification in one or more of the following: MT, MLS, CLS, CHT, CHS, CG, CT, HT, HTL, ASCP Scientist/Specialist (BB, C, H, M, MB, SBB, SC, SH, SM) required (ASCP, AMT, HEW, ABHI).
  3. Experience: 5 years of managerial experience preferred.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint required
