As a Health Education Intern at PPMW you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in promoting health and wellness among our employees and the community. This internship is designed to provide you with valuable insights into the field of health education and equip you with practical skills for your future career. You will work closely with our Health Education team, supporting various initiatives and programs aimed at improving overall well-being.

Requirements

  • Assist in the development and implementation of PPMW's Risk to Reasons health education programs, workshops, and campaigns targeting employees and the local community.
  • Conduct research on current health trends, evidence-based practices, and resources related to health education.
  • Collaborate with the Education team to create educational materials, including brochures, flyers, and online content.
  • Support the planning and coordination of health-related events, such as health fairs, screenings, and awareness campaigns.
  • Assist in organizing and facilitating workshops and training sessions on topics such as nutrition, exercise, stress management, and mental health.
  • Conduct surveys and assessments to gather data on health-related behaviors and needs of the target population.
  • Participate in the evaluation and monitoring of health education programs to assess their effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Human Resources, Marketing, and Community Outreach, to integrate health education initiatives into broader organizational goals.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and best practices in health education and share relevant information with the team.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as maintaining program records, tracking participant data, and preparing reports.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in public health, health education, community health, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of health promotion theories, behavior change models, and evidence-based practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey health information effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Proficient in conducting research, analyzing data, and synthesizing information.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with design software is a plus.
  • Previous experience in health education, community outreach, or related fields is desirable but not required.
