Position Summary

The UNM Health Sciences Center (HSC) MarCom is seeking
a Sr. Branding & Creative Lead to provide
dynamic and professional brand management, illustration and graphic design
support. Responsible for marketing planning and development, and coordination
of both internal and external marketing projects. Duties to include brand
training of university employees, mentoring and guiding design support and best
practices throughout the Health Sciences as well as partner with marketing,
communications and social media professionals.

Within the University of NM Health Sciences Center, develops and maintains branding
and visual identity standards for the clinical, academic and research
components. Designs, writes and/or edits Health Sciences-wide marketing
materials and promotional collateral including, but not limited to brochures,
flyers, digital media, signage and other documents. Assists Health Sciences
institutions and units in the development of marketing projects and planning to
align with institutional marketing goals and initiatives. Manages special Health
Sciences marketing events.

UNM HSC MarCom aims to
deliver compelling UNM Health Sciences (HSC) marketing and communications to
show how the institution advances medicine by improving patient health,
training future caregivers, and conducting lifechanging research to benefit
families and communities in New Mexico and beyond.

Distinguishing Characteristics for this position are:

  • A strong portfolio of
    work history demonstrating skills and experience in design, marketing campaigns
    and brand awareness
  • Experience in determining target
    markets to expand audience base, and determining how to reach target market
  • The ability to research and
    prepare budget proposals for university-wide marketing purposes
  • Ability and experience in analyzing effectiveness of marketing campaigns through data analytics and advising
    management
  • Leading and guiding
    the work of other staff performing marketing and design functions

The ideal candidate for this position will
be comfortable with: alternating individual and team settings of work,
deadline-driven environments, and project management. A practiced, demonstrated
history of software usage in Adobe and Microsoft product suites are essential.

Conditions of Employment

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's
    degree in graphic design, marketing, art or related field
  • Experience
    with academic and/or clinical marketing campaigns
  • Highly
    experienced graphic designer and illustrator
  • Knowledge
    and experience of UNM HSC Marketing and Communications best practices and
    guidelines
  • Ability to negotiate with vendors
