Shift:Multiple Shifts Available Day (with possible call and weekend rotation) Evening (with possible call and weekend rotation) Night (with possible call and weekend rotation) Department: Epilepsy Monitoring Unit/Clinical Neurophysiology Compensation: Base Pay Range: $19.15 - $30.23 per hour, based on experience Shift Differentials: Additional $2.00 per hour for evening shift Additional $4.00 per hour for night shift Additional $3.00 per hour for weekend shift Retention Rewards: Up to $15,000 Relocation Support: Additional $5,000 if moving from over 50 miles away Retention Reward (Option 1): $2,000 per year for up to 5 years, totaling $10,000 Student Loan Repayment (Option 2): $2,000 per year toward student loans, up to 5 years, totaling $10,000 Note: Details will be provided during the HR interview. ABOUT THE JOB MU Health Care is looking for a dedicated Neurodiagnostic Technician to join our team and play a vital role in our Electroencephalogram and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. As a Neurodiagnostic Technician, you will perform routine testing procedures and work closely with a Registered Neurodiagnostic Technologist to ensure the highest quality of patient care. DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION Explain test procedures to patients prior to the studies and provide for psychological needs while in the laboratory to obtain quality test results. Differentiate the quality of procedure and patient cooperation for interpretive analysis. Perform scoring and long-term monitoring review. Communicate the patient's psychological status and environmental conditions during the procedure to the physician for consideration in interpreting test results. Adapt test methods and instrumentation to obtain optimal patient results. Clean, calibrate, and process neurophysiology equipment. Report equipment and supply needs to leadership. Recognize medically emergent situations and take appropriate actions. Complete necessary documentation and billing. Perform limited office, secretarial, and patient transport duties. Meet all Patient Family Centered Care standards and patient experience goals. May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired. One (1) year of basic neurodiagnostic testing experience or graduation from a neurodiagnostic program. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Graduation from an accredited neurodiagnostic program. Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
