Overview

As a Payroll Administrator, you will ensure our employees are paid accurately and on time by supporting the payroll process, audit time records and maintain data integrity for all new hire and change form entries. Collaborate with industry experts and committed teams to keep our payroll systems running smoothly.

The Payroll Assistant supports the payroll function for the Purple Line Project by ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee wages in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. This role works closely with HR, Finance, and project teams to maintain payroll records, resolve discrepancies, and support reporting requirements.

What you will be doing

    Assist with the preparation and processing of weekly payroll for union and non-union employees
  • Review timesheets for accuracy, completeness, and proper approvals
  • Verify pay rates, job classifications, and applicable deductions
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, including prevailing wage requirements (if applicable)
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data in the payroll system
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Assist with onboarding by ensuring proper payroll documentation is completed (e.g., W-4, direct deposit)
  • Coordinate with HR and Finance to resolve discrepancies and ensure data accuracy
  • Support audits and reporting, including certified payroll reporting if required
  • Prepare payroll-related reports as requested by management


What we are looking for

  • High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Understanding of payroll laws and regulations is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Foundational knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office application

Working Conditions:

  • Office-based role located on the project site
  • May require extended hours during payroll processing periods
