The Department of Disability and Psychoeducational Studies (DPS) located in the College of Education (COE) at the University of Arizona invites applications for a grant-funded, part-time (0.5 FTE), career-track Lecturer to support grant project activities and supervise graduate students in the Special Education-Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) program during their field experiences. This position is funded through an Office of Special Education Personnel Preparation grant. The successful candidate will join a collaborative team in continuing to grow and develop this fully online program that is committed to preparing teachers of deaf/hard of hearing students within a variety of careers, including: early interventionist, preschool teacher, K-12 classroom/resource teacher, and PK-12 itinerant teacher. The successful candidate will have the ability to assist with grant project coordination, evaluation, and implementation, as well as supervise scholars in their field experiences and/or teach courses within the program. In addition, the successful candidate will have knowledge of current trends and best practices in supporting non-traditional students and adult learners, a commitment to excellence in teaching and service, and the ability to guide students in the learning process toward achievement of educator proficiency and state teaching certification. We seek an individual with an ability to assist in the day-to-day management of grant operations; work collaboratively with colleagues and grant scholars in the program; communicate effectively through spoken or written English and American Sign Language (ASL); supervise and support students remotely through online technology, and develop instructional materials. In addition, the successful candidate will have experience in teacher supervision at the educator preparation or practitioner level. This career-track appointment is not eligible for tenure.
