Description In collaboration with the Executive Vice President & Chief Clinical Officer (CCO), the Vice President will coordinate and integrate the strategy, operations, revenue, services, and evaluation of six clinical Centers of Excellence (Cancer and Blood Disorders, Community Pediatric Health, Heart and Lung, Hospital-Based Specialties, Neuroscience & Behavioral Medicine, and Surgical Care) as well as the Children's National Rehabilitation and Specialized Care (CNRSC). The VP will report to the CCO and will provide administrative and business leadership across all Centers of Excellence (COEs) under the CCO's purview. Lead the Telemedicine services team to ensure strategic growth, operational metrics achieved, and ongoing access and experience excellence. Provide the leadership and ongoing partner business relationships for existing clinical affiliations and partner for the six Centers in collaboration with operational leaders with the centers.

The VP will foster a motivating, performance-driven environment and integrate the operations of the COEs within the CCO portfolio with other areas of the CNH enterprise.
Qualifications

Minimum Education
Master's Degree Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, public health, or related field required. (Required)

Minimum Work Experience
10+ years of progressive leadership experience in clinical operations, service line management, or healthcare partnerships. (Required)

Required Skills/Knowledge
Demonstrate strong leadership, collaboration skills, and ability to drive accountability at both the individual and team levels.
Strong background in service line financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
Demonstrated success in building and managing clinical affiliations, joint ventures, or partnerships.
Strong contract management and negotiation skills, along with demonstrated leadership and management experience. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills are essential, as is a proven ability to communicate effectively across divisions, departments, and with clinical personnel.
Expertise in developing comprehensive business plans for new or expanded physician practices, including detailed financial modeling that evaluates patient volume projections and potential impacts on regional referral patterns. The individual must be capable of presenting complex business proposals clearly and persuasively to executive leadership.

Required Licenses and Certifications
Demonstrated leadership, expertise in the areas of specialty with required certifications and licenses as applicable. (Preferred)

Functional Accountabilities
Strategic and Operational Leadership & Liaison

  • Service as the senior liaison between the CCO and all COEs/service lines, ensuring alignment with the system's mission, vision and values.
  • Provide direction and management to the Telemedicine service to ensure meeting strategic expansion, patient and provider experience and key operational metrics.
  • Translate system-wide strategies into actionable priorities for COEs and affiliated programs.
  • Build strong working relationships with physician leaders, nursing leadership and executive team, and administrative directors to ensure cohesive governance and decision-making.
  • Lead Executive Directors in monthly operating reviews (MORs) to monitor key operating metrics, financial variances, and action planning.
  • In collaboration with Executive Center Directors, design and manage staffing models for Centers of Excellence and ensure pprovider productivity and patient access across all service lines.
  • Lead capital planning efforts and oversee the execution of new strategic initiatives to drive market differentiation.
  • Provide executive-level oversight and strategic direction for telemedicine services.

Financial Management and Budget Oversight

  • Lead the annual operating and capital budget processes for all Centers of Excellence, collaborating with finance partners and operational leaders within COE to establish baseline goals, workload requirements, and iterative forecasting
  • Own the full Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibility for clinical service lines, ensuring financial sustainability and performance reporting directly to the Chief Clinical Officer (CCO).
  • Direct monthly operating reviews (MORs) to analyze financial variances (budget vs. actual); develop and execute rigorous action plans to address discrepancies and ensure fiscal targets are met.

Service Lines and Clinical Affiliations Management

  • Monitor performance of existing clinical affiliations and measure return on investment (ROI). Ensure contractual compliance, shared governance, and mutual accountability.
  • Oversee invoicing for health partners and lead contract renewals in collaboration with the legal department.
  • Partner with the revenue cycle team to monitor payer direct billing and optimize service line profitability through enhanced documentation and billing accuracy.
  • Partner with service line leaders, SVPs, and executive center directors to conduct a quarterly business review of existing clinical affiliations within service lines, ensuring quality outcomes, adequate staffing ratios, etc.
