As a US Tax Accountant, you will assist the US tax team by preparing and completing federal, state, and local tax returns and estimates. You will also be able to use your tax experience by participating in analyzing changes to US federal and state tax law, responding to federal and state audits, and implementing tax optimization efforts. You will gather/manage a large volume of data from all areas within the company. You will report to the US Senior Tax Accountant, and you will work a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite and 2 days remote) from our Pittsburgh, PA headquarters.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Help prepare and complete the PPG federal consolidated tax return which includes compiling and analyzing information required to complete return.
  • Prepare and complete state and local income/franchise tax returns which includes compiling and analyzing information required to complete return.
  • Prepare quarterly federal and state estimates including calculations and coordinating related tax payments.
  • Help support schedules for the federal provision and the state provision.
  • Control and complete excise tax filings, withholding tax filings, and any tax payments.
  • Assist with a few partnership tax filings.
  • Compile information for federal and state audits as needed.
  • Respond to notices from different taxing jurisdictions.
  • Assist with analysis and implementation of responses to tax provisions, proposed acquisitions/dispositions and potential tax optimization strategies.
  • Help train interns and seasonal contractors as needed.
  • Assist with miscellaneous US tax tasks such as unclaimed property, annual reports and record retention requirements.
  • Flexibility to assist with other tasks as they arise.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • CorpTax or other income tax compliance software a plus
  • Hyperion, Oracle, SAP, and Alteryx experience a plus
