Overview

LMI is seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst with experience in Microsoft Power Platform to support data analysis, reporting, and application development efforts for a major office at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

This role is primarily execution-focused, supporting data-driven decision-making through dashboard development, data validation, and analysis. The Senior Data Analyst will work closely with project managers, developers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data products and insights that align with mission needs.

Responsibilities

    Support the development and maintenance of dashboards and applications using Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate)
  • Perform data entry, validation, and basic quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of datasets
  • Assist with user testing activities and document issues for tracking in tools such as Jira
  • Support backlog activities by capturing requirements, enhancements, and bugs
  • Create and update reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support program reporting needs
  • Use Excel (including formulas and basic data manipulation) for analysis and reporting support
  • Work with team members and client stakeholders to understand data needs and support solution development
  • Assist with project tracking tasks, including updating status reports and schedules
  • Identify and escalate data issues or inconsistencies to senior team members
  • Support the creation of documentation, user guides, and standard operating procedures
  • Stay familiar with Power Platform tools and apply standard practices in daily work


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree required (Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field preferred)
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in data analysis, reporting, or similar roles
  • 1-3+ years of experience with Power BI required
  • Exposure to Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI preferred; Power Apps/Automate a plus)
  • Proficiency in Excel, including formulas and basic data analysis
  • Basic experience with data querying or transformation tools (e.g., Power Query, SQL)
  • Familiarity with Jira or similar tracking tools is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow direction in a team environment
  • A true team player who maintains a positive attitude in a dynamic environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance

Desired:

  • Experience supporting federal or government clients
  • Familiarity with healthcare or program evaluation data
  • Exposure to Power BI dashboards and reporting
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Basic understanding of Agile or Scrum environments
  • Interest in pursuing Microsoft certifications (e.g., PL-300)
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Exposure to UI/UX or user-centered design concepts

Target salary range: $62,966 - $107,435
