Description and Requirements

Who You'll Work With: Lenovo's Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) is headquartered and managed from Morrisville, NC. With over 25 years in the data center business, ISG offers a complete portfolio that includes servers, storage, networking, software, solutions, and services. We build our data center products in Lenovo owned and controlled factories in each of the regions we operate. This gives us greater control over quality and supply chain security than our competitors have. It is our goal to become the most trusted data center partner in the marketplace.

Responsibilities:

  • As part of the Server/Storage Architecture team, you will be responsible for:
  • Understanding of current and future mechanical and thermal design trends
  • Architecting new mechanical chassis and/or sub-assemblies to be used on future product designs
  • Understanding and modeling the thermal properties of new designs
  • Developing thermal/mechanical specifications for suppliers
  • Working with suppliers and our China-based Product Delivery team on the execution/development of mechanical/thermal designs
  • Interlocking with Lenovo Global Supply chain to optimize design cost
  • Providing on-going advice & consult with the China Product Delivery team on technical issue resolution
  • Direct customers engagement

Basic Qualifications

At least 10+ years' experience in Mechanical/Thermal design

Experience using mechanical/thermal design tools including PTC Creo, Pro/E, Flowtherm, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Very strong communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of Server/Storage Systems and their components
  • Experience working/interacting with multi-national and cross-functional teams
  • Fluent in using Microsoft Office applications (Project, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills
