Description
Manager, Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management will lead individuals while serving as an expert and escalation point for contract review, negotiation strategy, and complex thirdparty commercial agreements at Atlantic Union Bank. The role serves as performer/leader that is a strategic business partner for the business units-- ensuring that the enterprise has the goods and services needed to meet the ever-expanding footprint of the Bank. Whether helping with supplier selections, contract negotiations or third party management, setting the objectives of the team, this individual will be a key performer/leader for the team. He or she will be responsible for managing a variety of work programs with the team, as well as deals with varying levels of risk, complexity and business importance to the Bank. Individual will lead, manage and develop other resources on the team and be responsible for the performance of those individuals Position Accountabilities
- Maintain and growthe Contract Center of Excellence within the team - responsible of setting best practices, playbooks, negotiation standards, training and templates that others on the team will leverage.
- Negotiate complex agreements; review and approve deals to ensure the best value for the Bank while mitigating risk, and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Develop contract negotiation, sourcing and supplier communication strategies on key deals to deliver value for the business
- Lead key procurement initiatives, leveraging rigorous, yet flexible processes to drive value for the business unit customer
- Be responsible of a portfolio of business partners - managing the interaction with the team and ensure that the strategic objectives of the business units are being met.
- Collaborate and coordinate with internal customers, across multiple sites and business units, ensuring strategic working relationships with key customer groups
- Lead and manage contract and/or procurement strategies, critical services/and supplier improvement initiatives and cost reduction initiatives
- Lead, manage and develop teammates to ensure the teammate is growing professionally and meeting the expectations of the team.
- Perform spend, contract and market analysis and use the information to drive the work program for his/her team
- Continuously improve business customer engagement, process standards, practices, policies, and procedures
- Develop supplier risk mitigation plans and capability assessments
- Focus on and own personal development, as well as the development of others on the team
- Manage performance of suppliers, as needed to drive innovation, compliance and cost savings
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, support internal and external auditing, as well as regulators
Organizational Relationship The position reports to the Dir-Contract Management, Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Management Position Qualifications Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, supply chain or equivalent military experience
- Minimum 10 years' equivalent job-related experience with emphasis on contract management, sourcing and supply chain management
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Preferred: MBA, JD or Master's Degree in Supply Chain or Finance or related
- Preferred: Certified Purchasing Manager
- Preferred: Six Sigma and / or Lean experience
Knowledge & Skills
- Advanced negotiation, contract writing, risk management identification and mitigation, effective and timely decision making, and project management skills
- Demonstrated success leading highstakes negotiations with large, strategic suppliers
- Passion and relentless drive to deliver value for the business
- Understanding of how to prioritize the strategic objectives of business partners
- Ability to serve as an internal contracting and supply chain consultant to lines of business
- Team leadership experience, direct or indirect leadership of teams
- Skill to develop suppliers, improve supplier relationship management and performance
- Expert level knowledge of general procurement practices, with a preference for Banking practices
- PC proficiency in AI Tools and Microsoft Office, including: LLMs, Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, PowerPoint and windows-based office software
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills needed to assess the market place, supplier proposals and perform cost/benefit analyses
- Experience with Supplier Diversity/Inclusive Supply Chain programs
- Highest ethical standards to ensure appropriate business relationships
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute work with little direction
- Ability to work in an innovative/fast-paced environment
- Superior communication skills that compel decision makers to take action

Salary offered will be based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. This position is also eligible to participate in either an applicable incentive compensation plan for the position or a discretionary profit sharing bonus program.
