Job Summary

The Kosan Operator position is a critical function for the efficient operation of the DC. This position monitors the movement of cartons to the pick area and freight floor and ensures product is moving smoothly throughout the DC.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the operation and efficiency of the Kosan to ensure smooth flow of cartons to the pick area and freight floor.
• Adjust position of boxes on the trays as needed to prevent jams and product or equipment damage.
• Pro-actively identify jams and take appropriate action.
• Re-induct "no reads" or boxes that have timed out by manually scanning or keying information into DOCS.
• Interpret data from Kosan monitor to evaluate operation of the Kosan.
• Monitor computer screen for conveyor jams and communicate with appropriate people to clear jams.
• Monitor DOCS system to ensure products are dispersed appropriately.
• Ensure all products is cleared from the Kosan at the end of the shift.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with others in a close working environment.
• Work as a team with internal and external employees of the company; ability to work effectively with other staff members to accomplish tasks and departmental projects.
• Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment; to manage competing demands; to manage priorities amidst frequent change, or delays.
• Must have regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and have a strong sense of urgency to meet established deadlines

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

• Work overtime on the weekends if necessary. Occasionally work alternate shifts
• Must be capable of sitting, standing, and/or walking for extended periods of time
• Overhead reaching and lifting required. Bending, standing, stooping, pushing, and pulling required
• Must be able to carry up to 35 pounds consistently, up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Required to work in a physical environment that is subject to temperature changes, movement of mobile and fixed equipment that require detailed hand movements and coordination, possible exposure to dust and other conditions associated with a warehouse operation
